What is Radiofrequency Ablation?

A Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) is an electrical current sent through an electrode that has been positioned on specific nerves causing pain. Once in place, a combination of radio waves and heat destroys the nerves, reducing their ability to send pain signals to the brain.
